Future LetUStream Donors
Hotel Mogul:
Excerpt - Rosen, 73, began his philanthropic efforts by paying for day care for parents in Tangelo Park, a community of about 3,000 people. When those children reached high school, he created a scholarship program in which he offered to pay free tuition to Florida state colleges for any students in the neighborhood.
In the two decades since starting the programs, Rosen has donated nearly $10 million, and the results have been remarkable. The high school graduation rate is now nearly 100 percent, and some property values have quadrupled. The crime rate has been cut in half, according to a study by the University of Central Florida.
"We've given them hope,’’ Rosen said. “We've given these kids hope, and given the families hope. And hope is an amazing thing."

Hedge Fund Manager:
Excerpt - A few weeks later, we got an email from Rhonda and her husband Doug saying college loans they held for two of their sons had been paid off.
The individual would only allow us to say that he is a partner at a hedge fund and owns a media firm on the West Coast. He said he was simply struck by the parallels between the Hess family and his own — he also has three sons — as well as the devotion to teaching demonstrated by the entire Hess family.
"People who are gainfully employed, with real jobs that help people in society, who teach our youth, are stuck in a structure where they can't get out from under [their debts]," he told us. "There's no program or mechanism to help them work through that," he said. "It was clearly frustrating and weighing heavily on them."

Benevolent Stranger:
Excerpt - The letter said that several people recommended Gingersnap1316 as a “deserving recipient” of the money. In return, the letter writer asked that the random acts of kindness continue in memoriam.
The writer’s family doesn't want anything from this woman but to know that their cherished relative’s legacy continues.
It’s a powerful statement to give a stranger money, but even more so to bestow trust upon that person.
Gingersnap1316′s mother has been fighting ovarian cancer for three years. The much-needed $1,000 will go toward her medical bills.

Elementary School Student:
Excerpt - The initiative was reportedly started two weeks ago by Taipalus after he witnessed a classmate being denied a hot lunch because of an outstanding balance on his lunch account.
"He wanted to know how he could help," Amber Melke-Peters, Cayden's mother, told Today.com.
A week later, Taipalus gave his school $64 he had collected from family, friends, and neighbors which in turn paid for 150 lunches for students who couldn't afford it.
